Tour Itinerary

Day 1: San Jose - Puerto Jimenez
Flight from San Jose to Puerto Jimenez. Upon arrival your guide will meet you and then take you for check in Parrot Bay Village or equivalent. Night in Puerto Jimenez. Dinner in town. (D)

Day 2: Puerto Jimenez - Sirena Station Corcovado
Breakfast. Flight from Puerto Jimenez to Sirena Station in the middle of Corcovado's Rainforest. The flight is one of the most spectacular experiences, flying over the jungle and being able to see the beautiful pacifc coast of the Osa Peninsula. After a few minutes of flight you will find a small landing strip inmersed in the middle of the jungle where the Sirena Station is located. Upon arrival to Sirena, check in and have lunch. Later in the afternoon, enjoy one of the numerous trails around the station. In Corcovado monkeys are very abundant, the four species of monkeys can be observed: Spider, White-faced, Howler, and Squirrel Monkeys.

This tropical rainforest is also a paradise for birds, from little hummingbirds to large raptors, and nocturnal hikes might reveal different species of owls. The classic Scarlet Macaws and other species of parrots are flying above the canopy all day long. The mammals are well represented by large groups of White-nosed Coatis, Pecaries, and small groups of Agoutis, and the wonderful Tapir. This national park is also famous for being shelter of a great population of wild cats and it wouldn't be that rare to see a jaguar or another cat wondering around. Come back to the station for dinner. (B,L,D)

Day 3: Corcovado National Park - Sirena Station
Breakfast. A full day to enjoy the rainforest and rivers around Sirena Station. In the morning, hike towards Claro River admiring the lush vegetation and the abundant wildlife, and then take a swim in the river. Come back to the station for lunch. Afternoon hike towards Sirena River. This river is quite nice for wildlife, there are crocodiles that rest on the sand banks. A lot of birds are observed along the river, egrets, kingfishers and different species of shore birds. The Sirena River is famous for its sharks, during high tie it is possible to see sharks coming into the river mouth for feeding and have them very close to the river's bank. You will come back to the Station for dinner. A nocturnal hike can be done, Tapirs and wildcats are very nocturnal, so there is better chance to see them at night. In the mouth of the Sirena River you can see the reflection of the crocodile eyes, and the fishing bats flying over the river, as you hike towards some good spots to find Tapirs. (B,L,D)

Day 4: Sirena Station - Flight to Puerto Jimenez
Early breakfast and you will get ready for departure. Your plane will suddenly show up from the jungle's canopy and arrive to Sirena to take you back to Puerto Jimenez, there couldn't be a better way to say bye to Corcovado than from the sky!
