This program is designed for the outdoor enthusiast who wants to experience native culture. Meet the aboriginal people of two Athapascan speaking tribes, the Tsuu T’ina in Southern Alberta and the Chipewyan (Dene) in Northern Alberta, who remained in the north according to the Athapascan separation story. It is a vacation promising memories of prairies, forests, rivers and people to cherish for a lifetime. The friendly Tsuu T’ina and Dene hosts make you feel at home in the wilderness while sharing their boundless knowledge of culture, nature and tales of adventures.

Tour Itinerary |
Day 1:
Arrival in Calgary, transfer to hotel.
Days 2-3:
Experience the hospitality of the Tsuu T’ina, learn about their past, present and future, visit historical and spiritual sites, learn about their traditions, dances, overnight in teepee camp. Day 4:
The teepees will be put down, horseback ride in the foothills of the Kananaskis Country. Evening return to Calgary, overnight in hotel.
Day 5:
Flight to Fort Chipewyan, situated at Lake Athabasca and on to our host's camp in the Peace-Athabasca Delta. This delta is a 7,500-km2 labyrinth of rivers and marshes and the place where the Chipewyan used to live. Days 6-9:
Instruction of basic behavior in the wilderness. Visit historic sites, go fishing, watch birds and wildlife, canoe on the rivers, hike, gather berries and herbs, in short - survival training at its best. Return to Fort Chipewyan, check in at Fort Chipewyan Lodge with its wonderful view on the lake. Spend the last evening together with the locals. Day 10:
Visit some of the attractions at Fort Chipewyan. Afternoon flight back to Calgary. Farewell dinner. Day 11:
Sightseeing and shopping in Alberta’s Southern metropole. Transfer to airport.
