Self-Drive Ranches

RANCH DESCRIPTIONS:

Guest Ranch - A guest ranch is a ranch that offers accommodations, meals and various activities, mainly horseback riding and sometimes hiking, mountain biking, canoe rentals as well as some entertainment. Guest ranches can vary from being fairly large and luxurious to rather small and simple.

Working Ranch - At a working ranch, guests can experience more active involvement in the daily chores on a ranch, like tending cattle and horses, branding, cattle drives etc. Working Ranches are often quite small, accommodating up to about ten guests.

Tour Details

Day 1:
Arrival at Calgary airport, meet & greet by a guide of Creative Western Adventures, pick up of the rental car, transfer to Bar C Ranch Resort.

Days 2-3:
Activities at the ranch.

Day 4:
Scenic drive through Banff and Jasper National Parks, possible stops in Banff, Lake Louise, Bow Summit, Columbia Icefield, Athabasca Falls and Jasper. Overnight at the Black Cat Guest Ranch or at the Overlander Lodge in Hinton, or at the East gate of Jasper National Park.

Days 5-6:
Activities at the ranch/lodge.

Day 7:
Drive through Mount Robson Provincial Park on the Yellowhead Highway, then south on Highway 5 to either the Nakiska Ranch north of Clearwater or the Ten-ee-ah Lodge near Lac La Hache.

Days 8-9 :
Activities at the ranch/lodge.

Day 10:
Drive through the Cariboo Country to the Big Bar Guest ranch near Clinton.

Days 11-12 :
Activities at the ranch.

Day 13:
Drive along the Goldrush Trail via Lillooet and Whistler to Vancouver. Overnight at downtown hotel in Vancouver.

Day 14:
Full day in Vancouver for sightseeing and shopping.

Day 15:
Drive to the airport, drop off rental car, departure.
