Tour Details

Day 1:
Welcome to Calgary! Upon arrival at the International Airport in Calgary, A Creative Western representative will greet you. Your Winter Adventure in the Rockies begins as you travel in the freedom of your own rental car. Just a short drive from Calgary will take you to the mountain resort town of Banff. Your destination is the Rocky Mountain Resort in Banff where you will experience one of the best mountain hospitalities. At the Rocky Mountain Resort, you can enjoy all the comforts of home including kitchen, fireplaces, and living areas. There is an indoor pool; indoor and outdoor hot bubs, sauna, squash courts, and a full fitness facility that would provide endless possibility for your après-ski activities. Your stay at the Rock Mountain Resort includes a full breakfast every day.

Day 2:
Experience an ice-walk into Johnston Canyon for a glimpse at a world of frozen waterfalls, pillars of blue ice, and a chance to see ice climbers in action. The easy walk leads you along the bottom of the canyon and over-suspended catwalks to the Twin Pools and the Upper Falls amphitheater. Plenty of photo stops.

Day 3:
A full day of snowmobiling is another great way to experience the thrill of a different kind. Five hours of snowmobiling will take you from the bottom of the Paradise Basin all the way to the top of 8000 ft! An ice-fall, an abandoned silver mine, a view from 8000 feet, powder riding and a hearty lunch at the top, all these will make this an forgettable winter venture.

Day 4:
Today, explore Alberta’s hidden wilderness. Go on a half-day tour of Alberta’s underground. You will descend a cave on Grotto Mountain with experienced guides who will interpret the fascinating natural history of the cave. Huge quantities of water were pumped through this four-kilometer long limestone cave system from extinct glaciers of the last million years.

As you walk up to the cave through the mountain forests, you will look down on the Bow River as it flows along the impressive glacial valley that once contained the cave-forming glaciers. Now the glacial waters have drained from the cave leaving glacial deposits, fossil animal bones, pools and glistening calcite formations, all of which you can view on our wild cave tours. Your tour start with dinner in Canmore at 6:00pm. After dinner, experience the thrill of dog mushing hands on. Learn to harness and handle the dog team or relax as passenger as you take turn driving your dog team. Enjoy many photo opportunities and the only traditional Canadian way to see the Rocky Mountains in winter.

Day 5:
Today, depart from Banff to arrive travel back to the Calgary in time for your flight departure from Calgary.
