Dear Friends,
The genesis of Cregor Adventures began one Winter night in 1994. My husband had just finished reading an article about the burning of the rainforest in Brazil and announced to me that our family had to visit and learn about the Amazon’s precious natural history before it was lost forever.
Perhaps like you, travel was not new to either of us who had visited every state in the country, nearly every National Park in the US and many in Canada, not to mention Europe and parts of South America. Since then, we have added the Amazon, Galapagos Islands, Peru, Baja, Costa Rica, Churchill, and Tanzania, marveling at the beauty, grandeur and mystery of the wildlife and vegetation. And, we are grateful that we were able to share these experiences with our son and both mothers.

During our travel, we not only learned more about the marvelous flora and fauna, but we developed a much deeper appreciation for our environment and why it is important to protect it.
No man could teach a green turtle how to return to the same beach where she was born 30 years earlier, and has not returned since, to lay her eggs perpetuating her species. Nor could man have imagined a pink dolphin living in the fresh waters of the Amazon River. Or the famous symbiotic and parasitic relationships between the plants and insects. After seeing and being a part of phenomena such as these you can’t help being in awe of the splendors of nature.

Regrettably, the very lands where these marvels of nature exist, as well as the wildlife living in and around them, are jeopardized by mankind. Their best chance for survival lays in eco-tourists, people like you and me who visit these places and convince others that tourism is a better alternative than destruction.
