Everglades Day Safari

Your exciting adventure includes a great airboat ride, nature drive, delicious Southern lunch, nature walk and much more! Safaris depart from convenient pick-up locations throughout South Florida at 7:45am and return about 5:00pm.

The trip has been designed to explore all four ecosystems that make up the ‘glades: sawgrass prairie, mangrove estuary, cypress swamps and the savannah. Your day safari includes a really spectacular airboat ride and a relaxing conventional boat ride, and the trip includes a great Southern lunch. A wildlife drive and nature walk complete your adventure. They offer convenient pick-up locations for the West Coast (Ft. Myers/Naples/Sanibel) and the East Coast (Ft. Lauderdale).

Bob and his staff have assembled a truly remarkable group of naturalists, from doctors of ornithology to world-renowned herpetologists to escort you into one of the most beautiful and unique places on earth - The Everglades. If you are looking for old buildings, museums and gift shops, The Everglades Day Safari is not for you. This is nature, nature and more nature. This relaxing 90-minute boat ride departs from Everglades National Park and works its way through the 10,000 Islands to the Gulf of Mexico. On this fully narrated ride, dolphin, manatees and many shore birds are usually seen. The very important ecosystem - the mangrove estuaries - is discussed at length.

Nature Walk
The walks are leisurely strolls into the cypress swamp area of the ‘glades. These are fresh water areas which are home to the very rare Florida panther, bear, otter, mink, deer and feral pigs. Old growth cypress trees, ferns and bromeliads abound.

    Dining Lunch Time for a break! This great Southern lunch is consumed with gusto at the Seafood Depot. This 1928, Spanish-style stucco structure began as the old Everglades train depot. The building has housed numerous restaurants and appeared in the movie “Winds across the Everglades”. You are sure to enjoy the food and the atmosphere. Fodor’s has given the Seafood Depot an excellent rating of 5.

    Safaris may be cancelled anytime prior to 24 hours before scheduled pick-up. Cancellations within 24 hours will be charged $25 each and no-shows will be fully charged.
