An adventure to the natural wonders of America's Southwest! This special journey to the most spectacular natural sites in America’s Southwest brings you to the most secluded portion of the Grand Canyon – the rarely visited North Rim – as well as to Utah’s Bryce and Zion Canyons, with their narrow-walled gorges and deep ravines boasting some of nature’s most astonishing colors and sprawling desert landscapes. This natural adventure takes you from early mornings in pine forests to evenings in remote and vast rock outcroppings, unveiling a wide variety of awe-inspiring scenery that leaves one breathless. Meticulously carved over millions of years by nature herself, one might say that this is an area which time forgot – or, perhaps, nature remembered.

Tour Itinerary
Day 1: Arrive St. George, Utah Today you will arrive in St. George, Utah, on the outskirts of Zion National Park. Meet in the lobby of the hotel at 7:00pm for an orientation dinner to learn about your adventure.
Days 2-3: Bryce Canyon National Park This morning, depart for a journey into the “feels like we are on another planet” mystique of Bryce Canyon National Park. Natural amphitheaters, rock spires and giant sandstone monoliths surround you on hikes through the Queens Garden or to Tower Bridge and Peekaboo Loop. A hike through Navajo Loop will bring you through narrow canyon walls that reach 200 feet in height, and countless rows of colorful hoodoos (sandstone spires rising hundreds of feet in the air, that were carved by millions of years of erosion). You will soon understand why Bryce Canyon is known as the “most colorful of all our national parks”. Accommodations are at the historic Bryce Canyon Lodge. The lodge is one of the few located within the park itself and sits in the mist of ponderosa pines, perched along the rim of the canyon. The hotel is a member of the National Historic Register and has been restored to its original 1920s splendor, right down to the replicas of the lodge’s original hickory furniture.
Days 4-5: Zion National Park Today travel into Zion National Park, home to multi-colored canyons and sheer red and white sandstone cliffs reaching up to 2,500 feet into the desert sky. Explore the banks of the Virgin River and marvel at the splendor of sandstone domes, each carefully carved by water running through the river millions of years ago. There are many options of trails to explore in the park and you will wander along them at the pace of the group. While exploring, birdlife unique to the American West presents itself and you may encounter the haunting cries of canyon wrens, golden eagles and prairie falcons, as well as American dippers and black and Say’s phoebes along the willow-fringed river. Whether it is a hike through Refrigerator Canyon or a walk to Emerald Pools, you will be rewarded with unparalleled breathtaking views during two days of exploration of the western canyon lands. Stay in the classic Flanigan’s Inn and relax amidst the hand crafted wood beams and fine patios. Zion National Park, immersing you in the region’s unique topography, surrounds the inn.
Days 6-7: Grand Canyon National Park No trip to see the canyons of the West would be complete without a visit to the Grand Canyon. In order to keep with a small group intimate experience philosophy, travel to the less-visited North Rim of the canyon and stay at the wonderfully located Grand Canyon Lodge. Its rustic construction of limestone walls and timbered ceilings complements the North Rim’s lush beauty. Perched atop the rim of the canyon, the lodge, which is a National Historic Landmark, offers seclusion, peace and comfort to the North Rim visitor. After absorbing the view, spend most of your time walking/hiking to either Bright Angel Point or to Roaring Springs. For those who are interested, there is an optional mule ride into the canyon available.
Day 8: St. George/Departure Today bid farewell to the canyons of the American West. Arrive back in St. George in time for our afternoon flight home (1:30pm or later).
