Tour Itinerary
Day 1: Arrival in Belize Today you will arrive independently in Belize, be met at the airport by your driver, and taken to your hotel for the night. Here you will also collect your local vouchers.
Day 2: Travel to San Ignacio At the appointed time, your driver will pick you up and transfer you to one of Worldwide Ecolodges' community based lodges in the San Ignacio area, your home for the next four nights. San Ignacio is a unique blend of early American frontier and multicultural settlements. This central area of Belize is great for taking part in various day excursions. (B)
Day 3,4: Day Excursions from San Ignacio While you are at the lodge, there will be two planned and included excursions. These tours, which you can choose upon arrival, are offered locally by the lodge. The choices range from visiting a local Mayan ruin to taking guided walks in the rainforest and to other sites. One of the ruins even boasts a ghost! If you have a particular interest in birding and wildlife, please let Worldwide Ecolodges know in advance and they can arrange (extra cost) to have a specialist guide for you.
Day 5: At the Lodge You will be free to enjoy this day on your own or choose another tour. You may want to try an excursion to the ancient Mayan residential and administrative center of Tikal, across the border in Guatemala. (extra cost)
Day 6: Return to Belize Today you will retrace your steps back to Belize City where you may continue on to other destinations.
